I think the reason I never update my DA is because I hate the way it looks. Everything is so out of date. Especially my journal. I'm trying to work on both the layout and updating my info/art, but it takes me forever to do anything. I actually drew out a new ID, because for some reason I take those really seriously. And my old one is ancient. And only has three piercings. Way out of date.

I try to draw every day, but it's frustrating when you give up almost immediately thinking "I suck at figure drawing, even my teachers know that, it's why I got a shitty grade, why would I be any good at drawing characters?" I'm really trying, though. It's hard, but what about art isn't? I'll be more satisfied someday, just not now. That's probably why it's taking me so long to make a new CSS.

My inking is sucking butt too, I'm way out of practice. I keep over-rendering my sketches, so erasing is a nightmare, and my inks suffer. I bought myself a Pentel pocket brush pen, but that's gonna take a while to both get used to and to produce something of decent inking quality. I want to try my hand at digital inking again though, mastering which is one of my greatest ambitions, but is terribly difficult no matter when I attempt it. But I'm not giving up. Nosiree.

I think one really positive thing about all this is that I've been copiously updating my LJ, which has been a lot of fun. I post a lot of sketches there, because I want to keep this gallery more for my finished stuff. However, I rarely finish anything nowadays, but I sketch a lot, so to see any/all of my sketches go there.
